GBC Leadership Pledge transitions to MindForward Alliance

Following a successful three-year campaign to catalyse action on workplace mental health on a global scale, the Global Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health has announced that the Leadership Pledge will now be taken forward by its long-term partner, MindForward Alliance.

The Global Business Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health was established in 2021. Since its launch, 185 companies have signed the Leadership Pledge spanning 20 industries, 62 countries and 6 continents. This has the potential to positively impact over 3 million employees, their families and communities.

The GBC’s work culminated this month with the publication of its ground-breaking research report, Mental Health in the Workplace: A Global Picture. The research shows that over half of all employees are either currently experiencing or have previously experienced mental health challenges. It also shines a light on the important role of leaders in speaking up about mental health to build more supportive workplace cultures.

Poppy Jaman OBE, Chair of The Global Business Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health (GBC) & Founder and Executive Vice Chair of MindForward Alliance, said:

“As we move to the next stage of our work to keep mental health on the Boardroom agenda, we’re pleased that MindForward Alliance will take forward the Leadership Pledge to continue to amplify its message and engage leaders globally with this vital agenda. There’s so much more work still to do and I for one am excited about the next phase.

“I’d like to thank the Founding Partners of the GBC: BP, BHP, Clifford Chance, Deloitte, HSBC, Sodexo, Unilever, Visa and WPP – who came together to accelerate positive action on workplace mental health on a global scale.”

Over the coming months, changes will be made to some of the GBC resources as the transition to MindForward Alliance takes place. To ensure you are kept updated on our news and events, please join the Leadership Pledge mailing list.
